WARWICK FARM March 25

Inside Grass; Heavy 8

Tough conditions with several heats run in heavy rain.

CAPITAL REIGN (Gary Portelli): Posted the fastest 808m heat time (47.90; 34.39) and could have gone quicker as he worked well within himself to score by almost three lengths after showing his natural speed to lead with ease. He's a flier over short courses and will take beating in any suitable 1000m sprint.

COCO ROX (Matt Dunn): This Better Than Ready 3YO filly has won two of her four starts at Grafton and the Sunshine Coast and clearly has the talent to make metropolitan grade. Did it with ease to clock the fastest of the four 802m heats (47.70; 34.14) with the best part of her work the way she extended over the last 200m under no pressure after sitting on the pace. Watch out for her in a midweek fillies event.

EDUARDO (Joe Pride): The crack sprinter had a tick over trial to keep him up to the mark for his autumn grand final in the TJ Smith. Jumped straight into the lead in his 808m heat and as expected was far too classy for the chasers, pulling his way to a five lengths lead on the turn and doing it at his leisure to score by more than three lengths from the classy G2 Ajax Stakes winner 3YO JUST FOLK. It wasn't the quickest heat of the morning (48.37; 34.59) but it didn't have to be.

The 2YO heats over 805m saw the highly regarded SHALATIN bounce back from the setback that cost him a Golden Slipper start, recording a strong win his heat in slow time (49.09; 35.28). Wasn't put under pressure and did all that was required to get his campaign back on track.

The fastest of the four 2YO heats was won by VANCOUVER'S CROWN (48.47; 34.72), another smart youngster who has been gelded. He was a lot more focused doing enough to beat a promising second placing from the unraced SHAQUILA.

SWIFT SWEET would rank as one of the best maiden 2YOs in Sydney after her Magic Night Stakes placing and she isn't far off a win after running home over the top of her rivals in her 805m heat (48.49; 34.94). She's a robust filly with a big stride and definitely has a future.

SO SNEEKY recorded the fastest win in the four 1200m heats (74.56; 35.80) but I liked the easy front winning of the lightly raced filly I'M  DIVINE in her heat (75.98; 35.18) while the talented trio ROOTS, TRAVEST and RELOADED recorded noteworthy placings.

TYCOON FREDDIE posted the quickest win in the three maiden heats over 802m (47.91; 34.69) with the other heats won by WINE I AM (48.29; 34.,53) and DIVINE KAMEHALANI (48.75; 34.,95). Nothing special but they have provincial prospects. EASILY OFFENDED took the eye with a nice placing in his maiden heat.
