Fastnet Rock, Mukhadram, Shooting To Win and Smart Missile add new stakes winners

189 for Fastnet Rock
Coolmore Stud's Fastnet Rock (Danehill) notched up stakes winner number 189 when Passive Aggressive (3 f ex Miss Judgement by Strategic) remained unbeaten and won the Listed A R Creswick Stakes (1200m) at Flemington. A $500,000 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale purchase by Dean Hawthorne from the draft of Cressfield, Passive Aggressive ran on in the closing stages to beat favourite Star Patrol (Starspangledbanner) by a length, with Karacasu (Headwater) back in third. Fastnet Rock's 2022 fee is set for the fourth consecutive year at $165,000 (inc GST).


Four for Mukhadram
British-bred gelding Skyman (5 g ex Skyrider by Dalakhani) became the fourth stakes winner for the Shadwell Stud-based Mukhadram (Shamardal) when he won Saturday's Listed W J McKell Cup 2000m) at Rosehill. Trained in England by Roger Charlton before being bought for 42,000gns by Go Bloodstock at the 2019 Tattersalls Autumn Horses In Training Sale, the now Chris Waller-trained Skyman pulled two lengths clear of Dr Drill (Dansili) in recording his first victory at stakes level.


Seven for Shooting To Win
In winning Saturday's Listed Gai Waterhouse (1200m) at Ipswich, Centrefire (5 m ex Coco Kerringle by Exceed And Excel) became the seventh stakes winner for Shooting To Win. Having her 38th career start, the Chris Munce-trained mare, a $100,000 by Munce Racing at the 2018 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale, beat Maybe The Best (I Am Invincible) by a nose.


23 for Smart Missile
Stakes placed previously, Smart Meteor's (5 g ex Tempting Lady by Northern Meteor) victory in the Listed Ipswich Cup (2150m) provided his sire Smart Missile (Fastnet Rock) with his 23rd stakes winner. The Chris Munce-trained gelding beat Our Intrigue (Showcasing) by a neck, while Street Dancer (Pride Of Dubai) was back in third. Smart Missile stands at Twin Hill Stud. He has sired one other stakes winner in Australia this season and will stand for a fee of $16,500 (inc GST) again this season.
