Widden announce $2 million speed over four years

Widden Stud has announced a $2million bonus for the progeny of Trapeze Artist (Snitzel), who is the most represented first season sire in next year's Group 1 Golden Slipper (1200m). 

Trapeze Artist's owner Bert Vieira is offering $2 million spread over four years with $500,000 in each of the next four racing seasons to be paid out to the owners of the first Group 1 winning two-year-old by the son of Snitzel (Redoute's Choice).

There are five Group 1 races for juveniles run in Australia each season (Golden Slipper (1200m), Blue Diamond (1200m), Sire Produce (1400m), Champagne Stakes (1600m), JJ Atkins (1600m)) and the bonus will be offered in 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026. 

Trapeze Artist has more than half of his first crop of rising two year-olds entered for the 2023 Golden Slipper with 67 youngsters nominated by a wide range of our leading trainers including Gerald Ryan and Sterling Alexiou (8), Ciaron Maher and David Eustace (5), Mick Price and Michael Kent Jr (4). 

Trapeze Artist will stand his fourth season at stud this spring for a fee of $55,000 (inc GST) with the foals born from these 2022 matings eligible for the final year of the $2 million incentive.
