Fireburn's sire will stand in the Hunter Valley for $27,500 (inc GST)
Rebel Dane (California Dane), sire of this season's Golden Slipper (Gr 1, 1200m) and Inglis Sires' (Gr 1, 1400m) winner FIreburn, will stand at Widden Stud's Hunter Valley farm this year for a fee of $27,500 (inc GST). Widden Stud announced the news on Sunday, with the deal brokered by bloodstock agent Mark Player.
Bred and raced by Laurel Oak Bloodstock, Rebel Dane won the Sir Rupert Clark Stakes (Gr 1, 1400m) in 2013 and added the Manikato Stakes (Gr 1, 1200m) in 2016 before standing his first two seasons at stud in 2017 and 2018 at Swettenham Stud. The son of California Dane (Danehill) was then based at Glen Eden Stud in Victoria between 2019 and 2021 and covered 49 mares last season, when he stood for a fee of $8,800 (inc GST).
Rebel Dane has to date sired seven winners from 14 runners with Group 3 winner Subterranean his other stakes winner to date.
Incredibly honoured to announce Rebel Dane will stand at Widden Stud.
