Inglis had to wait three hours for the first seven-figure lot of this year's Easter Yearling Sale, but it didn't have to wait as long for the second.

Coolmore's Tom Magnier's bought back-to-back million-dollar lots just after 1pm on the opening day.

After paying $1.4 million for Lot 90, a colt by Snitzel, Magnier went again to pay $1 million for a son of I Am Invincible.

"I think it's going to be like that a lot this week," Magnier said when asked if he thought he'd have to go so hard for both colts.

"I think there are some really nice colts and there are some excellent judges on the complex, so I think that when those good horses come up, you're going to have to put your shoulders back."

The Snitzel colt is from the Stakes-winning Bernardini mare C'Est Beau La Vie, who is a daughter of Makybe Diva's half-sister Valkyrie Diva.

"He was a striking colt, one of the nicest Snitzels in the sale," Magnier said.

"Snitzel needs no introduction with what he's doing at the moment and he's out of a Bernardini mare, which is always a positive.

"Everyone's here this week to try and find those good colts that we want to turn into stallions and he was one of the standouts of the sale and all the team really liked him, so fingers crossed."

Lot 90 was sold by Arrowfield Stud, while Bhima Thoroughbreds prepared the I Am Invincible colt, who is out of Commands mare Calming Influence.

"He was a lovely moving horse, a great pedigree and this is why you come to Easter; to get those great pedigrees," Magnier said.

"Hopefully we get a bit of luck with this guy and try to find the next Home Affairs."

The Coolmore-owned Home Affairs is also by I Am Invincible and like this season's Coolmore Stud Stakes and Black Caviar Lightning winner, the two seven-figure yearlings will both be trained by Chris Waller.
