Luna Rocks impresses at Warwick Farm
Yarraman Park announced on Wednesday that Hellbent (I Am Invincible) will stand for an unchanged fee of $22,000 (inc GST) this spring and later that day the son of I Am Invincible (Invincible Spirit) recorded his fourth winner when Luna Rocks (2 f ex Fimatino by Not A Single Doubt) scored impressively at Warwick Farm.
The Richard and Will Freedman-trained filly, who is raced by a syndicate put together by the Racing League, jumped well from barrier seven and went straight to the front. She pulled clear over the closing stages to score a three length victory over Ringmaster (Zoustar).
The filly, who had finished second on debut, was a $360,000 purchase by The Racing Leage from the draft of Tyreel Stud at last year's Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale and her co-trainer Richard Freedman believes Luna Rocks will develop into a lovely three-year-old.
"She's got some talent, but can be a bit wayward although she has that natural speed," he said.
"She's quite a light framed filly and when she matures will be a lovely three year-old. I'm not sure whether we might give her one more run, or go straight to the paddock."
Hellbent currently sits fourth in the leading first season sires table in Australia by both earnings and winners, with his leading earner being the Peter and Paul Snowden-trained filly Miss Hellfire. He covered a book of 182 mares during his first season at stud in 2018.
