Dual Group 1-winning sprinter Russian Revolution (Snitzel) was retired to stand at Newgate Farm in 2018 where he was introduced at a fee of $55,000 (inc GST). 

The Peter and Paul Snowden-trained Russian Revolution’s seven victories were in The Galaxy (Gr 1, 1100m) at Rosehill when defeating the now champion Australian sprinter Redzel (Snitzel), while on the final start of his career he added a second elite level in the Oakleigh Plate (Gr 1, 1100m). 

He was a $320,000 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale purchase by China Horse Club and Michael Wallace Bloodstock from the Vinery Stud draft, Russian Revolution also recorded victories in the Roman Consul Stakes (Gr 2, 1200m), Ian McEwen Stakes (Gr 2, 1000m) and Vain Stakes (Gr 3, 1100m) to go with his brace of top-level success, and he amassed prize money earnings of $1,284,225.

He is one of five foals out of the winning Stravinsky (Nureyev) mare Ballet d’Amour, who is herself a half-sister to the multiple US stakes winner Taletobetold (Tale Of The Cat), making him a half-brother to Group 3 winner Turbo Miss (Sebring). 

His unraced second dam Exigent (Miswaki) is a half-sister to Irish Group 2 winner Montelimar (Alleged) and stakes winner L’Extra Honor (Hero’s Honor), while this is also the same family as 2007 Sun Chariot Stakes (Gr 1, 1m) winner Majestic Roi (Street Cry) and German champion miler Noor Al Hawa (Makfi). His third dam, meanwhile, is a half-sister to among others L'On Vite (Secretariat), the dam of Holy Roman Emperor (Danehill).
