After a son of Kodiac (Danehill) topped Tuesday's opening session of the Tattersalls Craven Breeze Up Sale in Newmarket on Tuesday, one of his daughters was the session topping lot on Wednesday when Amo Racing & Partners went to 460,000gns to secure the filly.

Sold by Tally-Ho Stud where the son of Danehill (Danzig) stands as Lot 96, the filly is a half-sister to dual Listed winner Evil Spell (Dutch Art) being out of the stakes placed mare Yajala (Fasliyev).

"I have bought a lot of good horses off Tally-Ho – Blue de Vega, Twilight Jet, Now Or Never to name just a few," said trainer Michael O'Callaghan.

"She is a lovely filly, she did a very fast breeze, she is a lovely physical with a great pedigree. She ticks all the boxes and hopefully she will make up into a Royal Ascot filly. She looks fast and Royal Ascot will be the hope. She has been bought for Amo Racing, who are new to the yard this year."

Tally-Ho Stud finished the sale as the leading vendor selling eight juveniles for 1,787,000gns at an average of 223,375gns while Kodiac finished as the leading sire with the five lots by him making 1,202,000gns at an average of 240,400gns.

The second top lot and the most expensive colt to sell during Wednesday's second and final session was a son of Coolmore Stud's Sioux Nation (Scat Daddy) who was bought by Stroud Coleman Bloodstock for 380,000gns.

Sold by Mocklershill, the colt is a half-brother to Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint (Gr 2, 6f) winner Twilight Gleaming (National Defense).

"He is a very nice horse, he will stay in England and is for KHK Racing, Bahrain," said Anthony Stroud.

"He moved very well, did a good breeze is from a good consignor; he ticked the boxes. He is the horse we wanted to get to tonight. Richard Brown is a very good judge and he was the underbidder.

"He looks a real two-year-old and Sioux Nation has had a winner."

Over the two day sale 102 of the 134 lots offered were sold for 11,939,500gns, up 15 per cent compared to last year when 121 two-year-olds were sold. The average rose a massive 35 per cent to 115,917gns while the median also showed a large gain, up 32 per cent, to 90,000gns.

Widden Stud's Zoustar (Northern Meteor) was the leading sire by average (three or more lots sold), with his three juveniles average 243,333gns and highlighted by his daughter who was the leading filly sold on day one.

Another lot by the shuttler to sell well was Lot 121 who was bought by owner Bill Gredley for 270,000gns from the draft of Jim McCartan's Gaybrook Lodge Stud.

"I like this filly, a lot of people liked her, she was a lot of money but if you want something good you have to pay a lot of money," said Gredley.

"I don't often buy at breezes, but we took a look at her and she has a nice personality, I like nice people with nice personalities! I don't know yet who will train her, I will have a chat with my son (Tim)."
