Java D'Anama continued her progression and shed the maiden tag at the fourth career attempt in style drawing  away from her rivals with an easy success last Wednesday at Vichy.

The pace looked strong in the early stages with Jolirêve d'Orion leading around the first right-handed turn. Eventual winner, Java d'Anama found herself slightly detached from the main group early however Fabien Gence had his horse in a good rhythm travelling along the fair side for the first time and was making significant headway on the first circuit to be sixth passing their starting point.

With a lap to go, the Jerome Dubreil trained winner continued in sixth, two off the inside pegs but ten lengths off the pacesetter, Jessy d'Arcy while Jack Ligneries pressed on the tempo of the race significantly as they approached the final 1000m.

Eight runners were left with a good chance as they negotiated the final corner where the daughter of Vanishing Point made further progress and now three deep as they turned pressed for the lead. Fabien Gence had the filly in a great position as she travelled strongly and went to the front with 500m to go. Never seeing another rival in the home straight, she continuously increased her advantage over the group, where no one could get close as she posted a big margin victory.

Java d'Anama made her debut in April this year when DQ at Villedieu-les-Poëles before running eighth second up at Moulins two weeks later. Since those two moderate efforts she has taken a big step forward with a good second at Durtal at the start of this month before this first career triumph. She looks progressive and talented winning in 1'17''3. Can she record further victories at Vichy with this track appearing to suit? Time will tell.
