Third: Zenta
The Francis-Henri Graffard-trained filly Mappatassie may have only appeared workmanlike when making a winning debut at Clairefontaine, however, she looks sure to improve with racing and it was probably a testament to her raw ability that she was able to win at her first racecourse appearance.
Held up towards the rear in the early stages Francis-Henri Graffard's filly looked uncomplicated settling into a nice rhythm. Saving ground throughout on the inside Christophe Soumillon went to the lead entering the straight with approximately 500m to travel. This daughter of Australia only ever looked to be doing enough when out in front and it wasn't until the eventual runner-up, All Story, came to challenge that she went on again for a cosy one-and-a-half-length success. The front pair pulled nicely clear of the third in what could work out to be a deep maiden.
A daughter of Australia out of a Monsun (Ger) mare there is plenty of stamina on the dam's side of the pedigree.
It was of no surprise to see this filly commence her racing career over the 2400m trip and a step up in distance is surely on the cards in the near future. She looks well worth following over staying trips and although a decision on future plans is undecided, a quick grade rise is surely on the cards.
