Rail - A Course

Race 1

#1 KING INVINCIBLE remains a Hong Kong maiden after 16 starts but at the same time displays consistency and heart. He's well positioned here from the low draw, as was the case last start, but is worthy of a pardon after pulling hard throughout the first half of that race.A return to the minimum distance at Happy Valley looks ideal, and despite being recently branded a roarer is considered amongst the top chances.

#8 GOOD VIEW GLORY was backed off the map when finishing fourth last start and it was due to the Zac Purton factor. He'd also put the writing on the wall the start prior with a career best performance over the same course and trip. With another excellent barrier draw to leave from here, and blinkers being applied for the first time, he only has to deal with the return to Happy Valley and the minimum trip of 1000m.

#5 HAPPY TANGO is better known for his ability on the all weather track but capable of running a bold race on turf. He's never won over this track and distance but at the same time gone extremely close on multiple occasions. With 7lb claiming apprentice Ellis Wong booked to ride you can be assured they'll roll forward at speed, and are therefore a genuine chance of leading all the way.

#9 MULTIMORE is worthy of inclusion after drawing barrier 6 despite the fact he's racing below his best. It's likely he'll be first to the rail, once they get themselves moving, and from that position is a dangerous runner to dismiss.Remember, this is his preferred course and distance and where he's done all his money making, so he's a tricky runner to take on or completely leave out.

#11 AUGUST MOON has put together an ordinary season and subsequently dropped along way in the ratings. In his defence, the majority of his poor results are due to wide barriers and checkered paths during the run. With a good ride and ideal barrier on his side two starts ago an improved result was obtained, before being ridden to aggressively out the gates last start. He's drawn a sticky gate but is going well enough to find his way in to the finish.

Race 7

#6 ROCKET SPADE remains a Hong Kong maiden after 22 starts but is capable of running well, and potentially even breaking a long standing run of outs. After arriving the New Zealand Derby winner of 2021 he's continued dropping in the rating's and now finds himself back at his most preferred track.Hugh Bowman went desperately close to winning when aboard a couple of times during the middle of last season, which occurred in similar events to this. It's hard to be overly confident but I reckon he's almost ready so it's time for a sizeable each way bet.

#11 CHAIN OF GOLD has gained plenty of additional fitness at his two recent runs over the Happy Valley mile and is just about cheery ripe to win. He's also displayed a good turn of acceleration when finding the line which can make him difficult to hold out.Throw into calculations a good draw, champion rider, light weight and high speed to run and he definitely appears the horse everyone must defeat.

#3 LOVERO has made an immediate and successful transition from class 4 to class 3 and that suggests his winning is far from over. With another challenging barrier draw to deal with plus a weight increase of 8lb many shall be prepared to take him on.However, trainer Tony Cruz has continually throw him in the deep end and he keeps on finding the grit to respond.

#10 HELENE WARRIOR arrived a two time winning 2yo from England and is a runner of definite interest.Drawn well here and light weighted he could be underestimated by the betting public after just the four Hong Kong starts. He's getting close to a drop in grade, and shall no doubt be better in time, but his recent sectional data at Sha Tin is far better than it looks or reads on paper.

#2 GALLANT WAKING again reunites with his good friend Vincent Ho and the pair have notched up four wins and multiple minor placings in the past.A career high rating and a weight of 135lbs shall certainly create some challenges, but on the flip side a perfect draw assures he'll do no work. They'll also go quicker from the outset, which plays in to his hands now he's dropping back in trip.

Selections : 6,11,3,10,2

R8 - 12,3,2,10,6

R9 - 2,6,8,11,3
