Waller & Freedman post-race interviews after Platinum Jubilee

Post race interviews with Chris Waller & Sam Freedman after Home Affairs and Artorius contested the Group 1 Platinum Jubilee Stakes on Day 5 of the Royal Ascot Carnival.

Artorius endured a luckless run in the Group 1 sprint feature, eventually getting clear late and surging home to dead heat for third behind winner Naval Crown.

Home Affairs was prominent early before weakening and finishing down the track.

"He got a bit keen and they were running quick up front,'' Waller said.

"It was a big field, a lot of pressure, but he jumped so well and was in front, he puts himself in trouble with 25 horses chasing him

"He is a victim of his own speed and it is a relentless 1200m here

"We just need something to give us some cover so he would back off

"Artorius showed his (Home Affairs) form was right for this race but it was not meant to be today.

Sam Freedman (Artorius)

"Artorius has run a massive race,'' Freedman said.

"The steep finishes over here suit him a lot better than our flat tracks back home.

"I will talk to the owners but there is every chance we will go to the July Cup as I think the Newmarket track will really suit him.''
