The pair met recently in a similar race at Musselburgh when Karl Burke's Snooze N You Lose made every yard of the running for a comfortable success.

However, David Simcock's Clitheroe was stone last turning into the straight and faced an impossible task with three furlongs to run while Burke's filly dictated at the head of affairs and quickened away.

Clitheroe made eyecatching progress – and even suffered trouble in running, so to get as close as she did suggests she has a fair engine.

She was thrown into Group Three company on just her second ever start, despite not winning on her debut, so she has clearly always been highly regarded.

Being owned by breeders, black type is the aim and while she did get it last time, there is every chance, with a 3lb pull at the weights that this time Clitheroe can get a very valuable Listed win.

Makeen can continue his progression for Julie Camacho by winning the historic Stablemate By Agma Carlisle Bell Handicap.

Winner of two of his last three outings, including at Carlisle last time out, he appears to be a five-year-old going places.

The ex-Richard Hannon inmate is now up to a career-high mark of 82 but he won with plenty in hand on his latest start and looks sure to be suited going back up to a mile.

Camacho could even double up in the Atkinson Building Contractors Cumberland Plate Handicap with Shake A Leg.

The front runner just held on at Ripon and while it might be tougher to make all in this, he looks sure to run his race once more.

Cuban Rock has a first run for Jim Goldie in the Scaleby Restricted Maiden Stakes since leaving Gemma Tutty.

A fine second on his second start to Explicit, that form has been franked by the winner who bolted up at York in a valuable seller.

Goldie claimed Cuban Rock for £15,000 and it could prove a shrewd move.

Marcus Tregoning's Morghom looked a very exciting prospect when winning on his debut at Newbury in April and it was somewhat disappointing when he was beaten at odds-on next time out.

However, he might have bumped into one there in the shape of Whitebeam, trained by Harry and Roger Charlton.

Whitebeam was in receipt of 11lb when beating Morghom, yet she was good enough subsequently to defy a penalty at Newbury.

So Morghom might be up to winning off 90 in the Havana Grey Standing At Whitsbury Manor Handicap at Salisbury.

Tregoning also holds very solid claims with Al Azhar in the Showcasing Standing At Whitsbury Manor Bibury Cup Handicap.

Wins at Goodwood and Newbury have seen him shoot up the handicap and he appears to have scared a lot of potential opposition away as only three take him on.

Impeachment made a very promising debut at Lingfield and looks the one to be on in the British EBF Fillies' Restricted Novice Stakes at Bath.

She was not knocked about when third of five and looked very green in the early stages suggesting she should benefit from the run.

James Tate's New Definition has bumped into two youngsters who subsequently went on to run with credit at Royal Ascot in Lady Bullet and Bolt Action.

Tate will be hoping there is nothing of that class in the British Stallion Studs EBF Novice Stakes at Kempton.
