Martin Pipe winner Iroko will make his eagerly awaited chasing debut at Warwick on Tuesday for the Oliver Greenall and Josh Guerriero team.
Owned by JP McManus, the five-year-old took the Martin Pipe Conditional Jockeys Handicap Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival before transitioning to Grade 1 company at Aintree, where he finished third in the Sefton Novices' Hurdle.
"We've always thought chasing would be his game, he's been schooling really well and we're looking forward to getting going with him," said co-trainer Oliver Greenall.
"He will want three miles eventually, but we're just going to start off at two and a half and then go up in trip as the season progresses."
Iroko will take on five rivals in the Stan Mellor Memorial Novices' Chase, including Paul Nicholls' Golden Son, who makes his U.K. debut. The team won this race twelve months ago with Stage Star, who went onto take the Grade 1 Turner Novices' Chase at the Festival in March.
Golden Son currently edges favouritism with Iroko available at 2/1.
