Goodwood seems to be serving up treats for all

There's been short priced winners, and enormously long priced place-getters.

Friday's Group races were a case of this.  The Thoroughbred Stakes went to German raider Rocchigianni from Peter Schiergen's yard with Tom Marquand on board and while the Norwegians protested the result stood.  Second was The Wizard of Eye 40/1 and third Sonny Liston 12/1.

The King George Qatar Stakes over the 1000m saw Charlie Hills win this for the 5th time, on this occasion with Khaadem who was in the capable hands of Ryan Moore.  Favourite Raasel was second and Caturra third.

The Glorious Goodwood over the 2400m went to the glorious Rebel's Romance who again had the luckless Kemari behind her although closer this time, and John Leeper was fifth and will appreciate an even longer trip.

Saturday's card sees the running of the Lillie Langtry G2 for f&m over 2800m.  Sea La Rosa is on 7/4 for William Haggas and Tom Marquand, Irish raider Emily Dickinson is on 15/8 and Yesyes 15/2 Beckett-Hornby.

The Stewards' Cup is a popular handicap over 1200m with a full field of 28 headed by Mr Wagyu 13/2 John Quinn and Jason Hart – I suppose they could threaten to put him on the barbie if he doesn't win!  Regional is 15/2, Inver Park whom we rather like is on 8/1 and Chi Chi 10/1.
