Phillip Stokes and owner-breeder David Peacock have had considerable success with 'Discreet' horses over the years.

Maybe DiscreetSerenely Discreet, Just Discreet and some of the winners the pair have raced together to capture 'Black Type' success.

Their latest filly from the 'Discreet' family is Far From Discreet who runs in the Donate @ http://NJT.org.au Handicap (1400m) at Flemington on Saturday.

Far From Discreet is a daughter of Just Discreet, by Frosted, and while mum was a smart sprinter, winning the Group 3 Spring Stakes (1200m) at Morphettville, Stokes is of the opinion her daughter will stretch out.

It is for that reason he wants to give the filly a chance over 1400m on Saturday before sending her to the paddock to prepare for a spring campaign.

"She looks a city grade filly in the making," Stokes said.

"I thought I'd give her a look at the big stage and then she can go to the paddock as I think she'll be a lot better in the spring.

"She's probably a bit more mature in the head than most of the breed.

"I think she'll stretch out this one, that's why I'm happy to try it now and if it doesn't work, I'll train her differently next prep."

Far From Discreet has faced the starter only once, closing off for third over 1200m in a two-year-old fillies maiden at Cranbourne on May 6.

But apart from debut winner Lethal Thoughts, the remainder of the field are all maidens with the exception of AmalgamationFiftysevenyears and Zousmic who are having their first starts.

"It's a big step up from the maiden last time, but the field is mostly made up of maiden runners anyway," Stokes said.

"I think she is up to it and I like her as a horse."
