Out And Dreaming has followed up his maiden hurdle victory with a dogged win at Sandown

The four-year-old was lining up for his third jumps start on Sunday when contesting the Ladbroke It Hurdle (3400m) having taken out a maiden hurdle at Warrnambool earlier this month.

Out And Dreaming is the only jumper trainer Andrew Noblet has in training at his Ballarat stable and said success was very rewarding.

"He's the only jumper I've ever trained," Noblet said.

"I pre-trained a horse called Transferal for Robbie Laing a number of years back, but other than that I haven't had a jumper.

"It's very rewarding when you get a win with a jumper with the amount of work that goes into them."

Under the guidance of Tom Ryan, Out And Dreaming ($17) recorded a length win from Eckhart ($3.40) with the $3 favourite Mawaany Machine two lengths away third.

Noblet said he purchased Out And Dreaming as a middle-distance flat performer and didn't expect him to turn into a jumper.

"He wasn't being that genuine on the flat, then he started jumping and he thrived on it," Noblet said.

"In between Warrnambool and today he's really come on.

"He's still inexperienced in his first preparation, but he's a young horse with a good future ahead of him.

"Tommy gave him a lovely ride in behind them and got around the right horses at the right time."

Ryan said Out And Dreaming travelled strongly throughout the race.

"I was full of running on the turn and after jumping the second last I was happy being where I was," Ryan said.

"I said to Nobby before we went out, he's doing a job like he's been around forever and he'll definitely jump fences in future.

"His future is very bright."
