Hell Hound faces a rise in grade as she heads to Sandown for her second race start.

One half of the Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr stable is not afraid to get out on the track to learn a little more about his team 

Kent Jnr has been aboard debut winner Hell Hound in some of the filly's recent work as she prepares for her second career start in the IVE>Print Handicap (1000m) at Sandown on Saturday. 

Hell Hound scored a debut win at Terang on April 10 and Kent Jnr said the filly can be a bit of a handful, especially around other horses. 

But what she may lack in manners, she certainly makes up for with her galloping ability. 

"She's a very good filly, a gorgeous horse," Kent Jnr said. 

"I've been riding her during the week, and she's got strength, scope, quality and a turn of foot. 

"She did a lot wrong the other day, but she did let down well. 

"She's got a great action, but she's one of those fillies you don't work next to other horses 

"She tries to kill them. It's a good trait to have, especially in a filly and she pins her ears back on race day and has a try." 

A daughter of Hellbent, Hell Hound and is a half-sister to Letzbeglam who won a Blue Diamond Prelude at Caulfield in 2020. 

Hell Hound went around on debut as a $5.50 chance and was third favourite when the race was run. 

It is a different story on Saturday, with Hell Hound the $2.40 favourite, having firmed from $2.60 in early betting with TAB on Saturday's contest.
