The well-bred three-year-old filly has raced well at all three starts from her Hawkesbury base, culminating with a breakthrough victory in the Maiden Plate (1600m).

Denarau ($2.60 favorite) was given time to find her feet, and settled second last before rider Tommy Berry began a sweeping run on her from the 600m.

She sustained the run to comfortably defeat Avian Crescent ($13) and Calm Down ($4.20).

O'Shea and Champion Thoroughbreds went to $140,000 to secure the So You Think filly as a yearling in Melbourne in 2020.

Denarau  is the first foal of the English mare Full Sun, whose sire Cacique is a son of Danehill.

"We bought her because she is from a good European family, and I love the stallion (So You Think)," O'Shea said this evening.

"Denarau is a nice filly and has been a slow maturer.

"She has responded really well to the environment at Hawkesbury."

O'Shea trialled Denarau three times late last year at Randwick but did not race her.

He trialled her twice again at Randwick in April before beginning the filly's career at Kembla Grange on May 3 when fourth against her own sex in a 1400m Maiden on a "Heavy 10" track.

Denarau then improved further to finish second to Willinga Rufio in a 1500m Maiden at Hawkesbury on May 19.

She relished the step up to 1600m today and was strong to the line. Berry in fact was kind to her over the closing stages, otherwise the winning margin could have been greater.

O'Shea will monitor the filly's progress in the next few days before deciding whether to continue her current campaign.

The Hawkesbury Cup winning trainer has now three races at Wyong from his Hawkesbury stable.

The lightly-raced Dissident three-year-old Duke Of Gordon scored twice there on April 14 and 28 before an excellent placing over 1550m on the Kensington track on May 18.
