Winning Trainer: Jarrod Austin
Horse loves Flemington: "Everytime he comes down here he performs well. I can't wipe the smile off my face. I wasn't overly happy there after the first 30 metres when he missed the start, to to her credit she rode him perfectly and he picked them off one at a time and he hit the line well."
Came her with confidence: "We did. We had a plan for him and with all the weather in Sydney and the way it unfolded. We wanted to head to Brisbane, we had one of the better races picked out for him, so we trialled him again last week with this race in mind. It didn't look good when the rain started at Flemington earlier in the week, but once it dried out and the way he trialled up, we were confident he'd run a big race."
Winter Championship Final: "I've found that the 1400 metres, held up a bit, he performs really well. He did perform well in the Epsom a couple years ago, so he can handle the mile. We'll take him back home, weight everything up and we'll go from there."
Winning at Flemington: "Coming down here to the big track is a beautiful place. I've brought my two young daughters down with me today and it's going to be a special night. It's been a great day."
Winning Jockey: Linda Meech
What happened at the start: "He just got really agitated in the gates. I got a man up late but he just stuffed it right up. I thought then that we can't win from there, but to his credit, everytime I asked for a little bit. He gave me everything that he had. He definitely would have been a good thing beaten."
Taking runs: "He had to take some neat runs. I had a lapful of horse which could to do. I wouldn't want anyone to shift because there wasn't a lot of room."
