"I saw this race in the calendar a little while ago for this horse and he runs well here at Eagle Farm. He had the lead-up run here last week which mucked things around a bit.

"I was unsure of the seven-day back-up but he traveled beautifully today and he's a horse that wants a bit of room when it is time to go and as the horses fanned he started to get that room and was good late.

"I just think 1500 is as far as he goes. He doesn't run a strong mile. But this 1500 is perfect for him. That it was a moderate tempo was perfect for him. They backed it off half-pace there mid race and allowed him to travel kindly and then have a good finish."

"He's done a great job for the owners and the team since coming to Queensland. To win a listed race today just tops it all off."

"He wasn't really a hidden one. He got out to 200-1 last start and he more in favour today. He went super and coming here he didn't have run better than last week. Just had to repeat it and thankfully he did.

"He's been a beauty and he loves his job and he's been brought along well by Tony Gollan and his team. That is reflected in his record and he has been great to me, too."

Could have been on honeymoon: "We had a surprise wedding last Sunday and now back to work to pay for the honeymoon."
