The Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr stable will learn a little more about French-bred Visinari after he lines up at Flemington

Visinari runs in The David Bourke (1630m) on Saturday in which a one-two finish will provide the gelding a start in the Listed VRC-CRV Winter Championship Final (1600m) at Flemington on July 2.

"This is the last opportunity to get into the final of the Winter Championship," Price said.

"He can still get in, but if he runs first and second, he escapes the ballot."

After showing promise in the UK where Visinari scored on debut at Newmarket before progressing straight to stakes company, the gelding was dispatched to Australia after five more runs.

The five-year-old had two runs for Sam Kavanagh in NSW before finding his way to Melbourne.

Visinari has had a busy winter campaign and arguably should be undefeated for the Price-Kent Jnr stable in four runs.

After winning first-up at Pakenham in April, Visinari went on to win at Sandown last month before a wide path at Caulfield on May 28 brought him undone when second behind Sir Davy

Despite lumping 61.5kg on heavy ground at Sandown last week, Visinari returned to winning form with a hard-fought win over Chief Altony, a noted wet track performer.

The quick back-up, being only a week, is something that Price is unsure about with Visinari but is happy to give it a try.

"I don't know if he will and sometimes there's only one way to find out, and that's by running them," Price said.

"He's now got a rating of 87, which is good, but I need a rating up on him to get into the better races in the spring.

"He's drawn a gate to do no work on Saturday, and now we will have to see how he backs up."
