Winning Trainer: Phillip Stokes
Winning formula: "Yeah, good ride, I think bringing him back to the mile was the secret, just freshened him up. The team have done a really good job with this horse at home, good result for the Doc he'd be home in WA watching this and cheering him on."
On the horse: "He's adaptable, he's good on top of the ground and I think we've got the secret to him now, just keeping him fresh and to the mile and he'll win more races. That (winter) is probably where he fits at the moment but he's a horse that's kept on progressing every prep and who knows where he ends up."
Winning Jockey: Jamie Mott
Drawing wide: "He's a horse that tends to get back anyway so whatever barrier he gets, he probably just wants to be drawn off the fence if anything."
How the race unfolded: "It couldn't have worked out any better, I got the back of Eagles Crag and I knew at that stage I was going to get a nice drag into the race and also I had Chief Altony inside him locked away at the same time so it couldn't have worked out more perfectly."
Mindful of Chief Altony: "I knew he was there, he was actually very cheeky, he gave me a bit of a bump and got me outside of Eagles Crag so it almost presented an opportunity for him to get out but after he did that I was mindful to really hold him in there. I knew he was the one to beat and it was probably the winning move because he was obviously flashing late."
