Codi Jordan went into the meeting with a seven-win lead over Siggy Carr and ended the day extending her lead by one after Carr also landed a winner in Further North in the Kevin Sharkie Maiden-Class 1 over 2150m.

The last meeting of the 2021-22 season is in Hobart next Sunday where Carr would have to ride the card to tie Jordan and hope Jordan went winless and the odds on that happening would be a million to one.

Irrespective of the outcome both riders have had a great season as has Erica Byrne Burke who finished with 46 winners to be lying third with two other apprentices Taylor Johnstone (32 wins) and Chelsea Baker (27 wins) set to finish in the top 10 on the premiership table.

Jordan's two winners were Music Addition in the R F Ferguson Memorial Open Handicap over 1220 metres and Reward Achiever in the Southern Cross Open Handicap (1620m), both trained by her master Glenn Stevenson.

The trainer was delighted with both wins, in particular that of his sprinter Music Addition.

"I am thrilled with this win because he was up against a couple of very good gallopers and he appeared to do it comfortably," Stevenson said.

"The plan was always to take him back to Melbourne and look for a suitable race and get Codi to ride him to take three kilograms off his back and after this win that now looks like being the plan."

Julius led and travelled well to the home turn while Jaja Chaboogie that raced at the leader's girth, moved up to challenge as did Music Addition that travelled three-wide from the 400m mark.

Julius shrugged off the challenge from Jaja Chaboogie, but he had no answer to Music Addition that appeared a bit burly in the mounting yard, but his class gave him the edge.

"I must admit my horse looked a bit fat in the yard and Codi said he blew out 100 metres from the line, but he is tough and refused to give in.

"When I find the right race, I'll take him to Melbourne, but it will only be for one start because I'd like to get him back home and set him for the Newmarket in late November."

Stevenson's talented mare Reward Achiever settled second behind outsider Off Peak ($51) that set a cracking pace but was a spent force as she entered the home straight.

Jordan knew her main danger Tavirun ($2.20 fav) was back in the field along with this season's Vamos Stakes winner Take The Sit ($5), so she sent Reward Achiever to the front and went for home, and it proved to be the winning move.

Miss Charlie Brown ($11) made a race of it over the final 100 metres as she ran home along the rails but when Jordan asked her charge for an extra effort she found to score by a half-length.

"I'd love to take Reward Achiever to Melbourne, but she is a bad traveler, so with nothing for her here in Tassie I'll most likely tip her out and aim her at the Group 3 Vamos Stakes here in Launceston next February."
