Cashin' Chex hasn't missed a place in six runs since joining Downing's stable earlier in the year and has drawn an inside gate with Ben Melham booked to ride.

Downing enjoyed a super finish to the 2021-22 season producing seven winners from her last 20 starts and is back in training partnership with Niki O'Shea.

"It was nice to finish the season with some success,'' Downing said.

"We hoping to buy a few horses in the coming months and hopefully that will also see a few more owners joining the stable,'' she said.

Downing said while the inside gate might be a tricky barrier, she was confident multiple Group 1 winning rider Ben Melham would give the horse every chance.

"I'm not mad about the barrier but I'm pretty happy with jockey we've booked, and I am sure he will work it out'' Downing said.

Cashin' Chex will line up alongside fellow local Countofmontecristo.

The well-travelled Countofmontecristo, a former top Singapore galloper who spent time with Kris Lees in Sydney, has had just the five runs for the Travis Doudle stables and comes a good effort running fourth in the Mildura Cup last start.

He jumps from barrier five with Logan McNeill booked to ride.
