Led by an impressive return of quality four-year-old Taunting, the 2020-21 season's leading trainer is hoping the racing gods will again be on his side after an injury-plauged 12 months.

Taunting has always been a horse Hickmott believes can measure-up at the top level and was taken on the Guineas path in his three-year-old season.

His return to racing was impressive, winning by 1.4 lengths with Jessica Eaton in the saddle.

Lord Bouzeron kick started the successful day when he defied the Tony and Calvin McEvoy stable a race to race double beating Zoffala with top apprentice Ben Price in the saddle.

Fellow apprentice Lachlan Neindorf took riding honours with a winning double aboard Rapid Raiser for Jake Stephens and My Khalifa, who scored the biggest win of the day winning by three lengths late in the day for the Gordon Richards and Damien Moyle stable.

Meanwhile another Racing SA apprentice Felicity Atkinson took riding honours at Roxby Downs with a double including the Cup aboard Lettemgo for the Trevor Day stable.
