2022 SHOW COUNTY QUALITY - RACE HISTORY AND BACKGROUND

The Show County Quality is a Group 3 race run under Quality Handicap conditions for open sprinters at Randwick conducted by the Australian Turf Club.

The Show County Quality is run over 1200m. It was first run in 1993 and was won by Big Dreams.

The Show County Quality has been run at Randwick, Warwick Farm and Canterbury but been at Randwick since 2014.

The Show County Quality was upgraded from Listed company to Group 3 in 2013.

The race is named after a former top sprinter of the late '80s who, as a two and three year old, won numerous feature short course races.

In 1997 Might And Power came from a long way back to run the leader down in the last stride. He would win the Caulfield Cup and Melbourne Cup at the end of that campaign.

The 2007 race was not held due to the Equine Influenza break out.

Deploy began a charge to being slotted into the 2017 Everest after winning the Show County. Le Romain 12 months later would eventually gain a slot later in the piece following his win in this race.

Private Eye won the Epsom three runs after taking the Show County in 2021.

The 2022 Show County Quality was run for prizemoney of $200,000.
