Major metropolitan meetings are today held at Flemington, Belmont, Murray Bridge, Sunshine Coast and Wangaratta.

FLEMINGTON: RACE 6 @ 2:55 PM

MASERARTIE BAY (1) has won three of his past four and has done so making the most of a positive racing pattern. Tipping he sees a bit more pressure this time but not so much that he won't still have an advantage over some of his key rivals. Yard has won this the past two years with similar profiles. PESTO (5) couldn't reel him in two back and was again strong late when left with plenty of running to do late on last time. A better tempo here will help. TARAMANSOUR (7) is another that would love a stronger gallop now. Think he could be a sharp improver. Must respect SARACEN KNIGHT (4) who won the recent lead up at the course and DON'T DOUBT DORY (2) who followed him home there.
SELECTIONS: Siding with Maserartie Bay.

BELMONT PARK: RACE 5 @ 2:35 PM

SEARCHIN' ROC'S (1) is hard to go past after measuring right up to a smart one in the Guineas and the return to fillies' grade suits. Big chance to break through. THE VELVET QUEEN (3) has been a beaten favourite in all three runs this time in but has been beaten less than a length each time. Extra trip might suit her. MYSTERY MOMENT (7) is an up and comer who has an easy win over this trip to her name albeit on a heavy track. Keep in mind. MY FURY (5) and PAT'S GOT SASS (2) are worth including in the chances.
SELECTIONS: Searchin' Roc's to win. Trifecta 1-2,3,5,7/2,3,5,7.

FANNIE BAY: RACE 4 @ 2:39 PM

PRINCE RUBAN (3) is racing well with a win by a head at this track two back then a third over 1200m at this track last time. Has a solid record at this journey with two wins and two placings from six starts and looks a top chance. COWLEY'S CREEK (5) is poised to win after placing at his last three outings, most recently when second over 1600m at this track. Has a win and three placings at this journey from seven starts and is right in this. BRIMARVI ROOBOY (1) raced below par at his last appearance 12 weeks ago when fourth over 1600m at this track. Goes well at this journey with three wins and a placing from eight starts and is one of the prime contenders. RICH SUN (4) lines up on the back of a 1.75 lengths second over 1300m at this track. Best figures stack-up nicely.
SELECTIONS: Prince Ruban to win.

MURRAY BRIDGE: RACE 6 @ 1:57 PM

Very keen on KARACASU (1) who should be putting these away. He was dominant over this track and distance two back, putting up a strong rating. He was well fancied in the Listed Creswick Stakes at Flemington last time and probably runs second with a better passage. Gets in well at the weights and should win. EYES NEVER LIE (7) is a handy sprinter who comes here fresh. She won easily first up last time in and gets 4.5kg off the favourite. LEGLESS LADY (6) has won her last two and is hard to knock, while QUEMAN (4) has won a recent trial in dominant fashion but has 4.5 lengths to make up on Karacasu.
SELECTIONS: Karacasu to win.

SUNSHINE COAST: RACE 7 @ 4:45 PM

BATTLETON (2) deserves a win and this looks his chance. Has placed in each of his three runs this time in, the last two at Group level. Beaten only 2L when runner up in the Gunsynd Classic in his first try at this distance last start. Well placed and ready to strike. INDISCREETLY (10) gave a good sight first up when leading and fighting on for second at Ipswich. Possesses a good strike rate and is drawn to get the favours. SUBTERRANEAN (1) beat Indiscreetly when winning at Ipswich last start. At his peak now so could go on with it. MAJESTIC COLOUR (6) steps up in grade but must be respected having won all three starts this time in while ASHGROVE (5) gave a sight last start and makes each-way appeal from a favourable draw.
SELECTIONS: Battleton is well placed. He can break through.

WANGARATTA: RACE 7 @ 3:46 PM

WOLF REIN (12) was far from disgraced in far tougher company in town last time. Has a nice draw and in form jockey Aaron Lynch aboard. Should go close. STILLER (6) is coming back off a break after only one run last campaign. Has trialled in preparation for return run. Is worth keeping in mind. ANTHEMIC (4) resumed with an excellent effort at Echuca last week. On the quick backup but looks up to the task. Won't be far away. BON SHADOW (5) freshened before last two starts which have been encouraging. Is nicely off in this company and has to be respected.
SELECTIONS: Back Wolf Reign to win
