Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for April 4.
Australian thoroughbred Tab meetings are today held at Scone, Port Macquarie, Mornington and Doomben.
SCONE: RACE 5 @ 3:25 PM
FIENDISH (2) is unlucky to still be a maiden with four consecutive placings to start the career. This is not an overly strong affair and gets her chance to shed the maiden tag against this lot. POETIC IMPACT (15) resumes here but tuned up for this with a solid Gosford trial and can run a race while fresh. GEMMAYZE (6) faces the starter for the first time and should get all the favours from the inside alley. Must be included.
SELECTIONS: Fiendish to win.
As a FREE Racing and Sports offer, below is the Scone Computer Card.
PORT MACQUARIE: RACE 1 @ 1:20 PM
TOPENDER (9) resumed improved and then was okay after. Is ready for the longer trip and with the handy 2kg claim is the one to beat in this line-up. CASINO SILK (3) was just beaten here this trip 13 days ago making good improvement. Needs a good ride but is a serious player. STROBING (1) found Tuncurry easier than Newcastle and just missed bet 4-7F. Races at peak fitness and has a handy barrier and the winkers on first time. ELLA TE AMA (2) has the rail and 3kg claim and will be better with the debut outing under the belt.
SELECTIONS: Backing Topender.
MORNINGTON: RACE 6 @ 4:00 PM
ZAILA (6) is lightly raced and progressive. She was an impressive winner on the Heavy two starts ago when on debut before an encouraging effort in town last start when jumping straight to Saturday grade. This trips appears like it will suit and she may have more upside than some of her rivals here. BREASLEY (1) will make his own luck on speed and another win isn't far away. He could take catching. ALLYROCK (9) turned her form around last start when a runaway Maiden winner when ridden closer and although this is harder she warrants respect. JUNGLE JANE (8) has a win and a third to her name in two attempts over the course and distance and could be value. Throw in everything.
SELECTIONS: Zaila gets the nod. Jungle Jane looks a value play.
DOOMBEN: RACE 4 @ 2:20 PM
ZELIFY (6) is another decent chance for the Waller barn. Posted his best figure just beaten at Eagle Farm from the speed and Orman takes over from the apprentice and will ride from a low gate. Fitter and is sure to take beating. BLUE KENTUCKY MOON (1) is also in good hand and won easily at this level at Grafton on resumption. Was heavily-bet and can take the next step without surprising. REALITY (3) is third up with a 2kg claim and should be ready to show his best. That would have him in the finish. SAKURA STAR (8) has won and just missed his last two and also has claims.
SELECTIONS: Going with Zelify.
