Australian thoroughbred Tab meetings are today held at Canterbury, Sandown Lakeside, Ipswich, Ascot, Launceston and Balaklava.

CANTERBURY: RACE 7 @ 4:20 PM

Irish import DIAMIL (9) has thrived since landing on our shores with a handy second here before a dominant display at Warwick Farm last time out. McDonald was on board for that last-start victory and sticks. Will be right there when the whips are cracking. The well-named EASY CAMPESE (5) has placed over this track and trip and gets 3kg off with the claim. Top-three credentials. MILK MAN (2) resumes but showed enough at the backend of last preparation to warrant respect in this.
SELECTIONS: Diamil to win.

ASCOT: RACE 7 @ 5:25 PM

TRADEM' IN (1) led and improved again missing a lip before throwing his head on jumping beaten 3/4L doing his best work late. Comes back 200 and should be on-speed today. Gets in well with the 2kg claim and tipping he'll bounce back. KEEPER SWEET (5) capped two near-misses with a big win at 54 level. Has the speed to manage the awkward gate and the 3kg apprentice replaced the leading hoop. Not sure about the bar plates applied up front but she's a serious hope. INDOMINUS (3) just missed the latest and that stacks up. Should be fully fit now. ARNO THE FOX (2) has a 3kg claim and has won three of his last four starts. Draws for the run of the race and is also a player in a good contest.
SELECTIONS: Backing Tradem' In.

BALAKLAVA: RACE 5 @ 3:40 PM

NORDIC LASS (5) is speedy and has placed her last three including first-up at Clare. Has a handy 2kg claim and fitter. Can go one better. MAID IN MILAN (12) improved again at Oakbank beaten less than a half length and gets weight relief in this grade. She will push forward and should go close on the 7-day return. DAWNBURST (11) is ex NSW and brings strong form to resumption for the new barn. This is likely winnable but she has a number of gear changes and has to manage the cross from a sticky gate. GENERAL MINT (6) draws well and has been trying hard without winning. He's good enough at best and is in the mix.
SELECTIONS: Nordic Lass each way.
