Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for April 20.
Australian thoroughbred Tab meeting is today held at Canterbury, Ipswich and Strathalbyn.
CANTERBURY: RACE 5 @ 3:10 PM
THIS'LLBETHEONE (2) was a touch disappointing when resuming but will take a lot of benefit from that outing. The form he showed last campaign was rock-solid for a race like this and the step-up to 1550m looks ideal. Should be right there when the whips are cracking. BARRICHELLO (1) finally got the job done last time out after a string of consistent performances. Will have taken a stack of confidence from that win and can go on with it now. ZA CEIBAS (5) was a dominant winner first-up and will strip even fitter for that effort. In the mix. GLOBAL AUSBRED (8) best of the rest on the back of a last-start victory.
SELECTIONS: This'llbetheone to win.
As a FREE Racing and Sports offer, below is the Canterbury Computer Card.
IPSWICH: RACE 6 @ 2:53 PM
ROWDASH (12) won easily last start, albeit over 870 metres at Toowoomba. She races as though the extra distance will be in her favour and with Sam Collett taking over the reins, she will be given every chance to go back to back. SENSHI SPIRIT (10) battled on solidly fresh up and would have taken a fair bit of improvement out of that run. The Lee stable seldom travel this far without getting some prize money. Include in all multiples. PAREDO (3) was put aside with some issues after only one run last preparation. She is obviously over those problems and looked ready to win when scoring at her latest trial. Watch closely.
SELECTIONS: Paredo each way.
IPSWICH: RACE 7 @ 3:28 PM
ROLLER COASTER (4) has thrived since joining the Queensland arm of the Waller operation, posting two wins in a row. The manner in how he won last start suggests that he should have no problem with the step up in class here. Another win is on the cards. VITESSE FRANCAIS (2) has had no luck at all most recently and his last two third placings have been full of merit, on both occasions he could have easily won with even an ounce of luck. He will be looking for a clear path in the straight and should be fighting out the finish in a competitive field. SHE'S AN EAGLE (7) is another that should have finished closer last start. She is reunited with Ben Thompson who has won twice from three rides on her. Expect her to be thereabouts today. MAKEDON (3) made an early move in a strong field last start and was found wanting down the straight. His fresh up effort for second was good and third up today he is ready to show his best. Include in all multiples.
SELECTIONS: Roller Coaster win bet.
STRATHALBYN: RACE 5 @ 3:40 PM
CAPRICORN RIDGE (1) has won 2/3 this preparation and missed a lip the other. Fitter and the longer trip won't bother. Keeps an in-form hoop and can go on with it. NEVA DOUBT US (4) comes out of the same race beaten 2L and is was a strong effort from the back. He won't have to improve much to go close. ROBE RAIDER (9) just missed here in the CL1 before being heavily-backed again comfortably winning the Maiden. Keeps improving and is a player. ENBARR (2) has been racing in stronger since the Penola win and will go a lot better in this line-up. The low gate advantages, as does Callow's 3kg claim.
SELECTIONS: With Capricorn Ridge.
