Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for April 30.
Major metropolitan meetings are today held at Hawkesbury, Sandown Hillside, Eagle Farm, Morphettville and Ascot.
HAWKESBURY: RACE 7 @ 2:50 PM
MR MOZART (1) followed up on his handy win in the Phar Lap Stakes when digging deep to beat subsequent winner Our Playboy last start. Races back against his own ages and looks to get all the favours on the map. The Wizard sticks and he should prove very hard to beat. LOCH EAGLE (6) was no match for Vilana last start but a key switch with Bowman back aboard. Promising horse who can take that next step. FLYING CRAZY (4) will want an improving track as he failed to fire on the heavy track back. Wins either side of that leave him well placed and he has to be included. VILANA (5) has won his last three starts and is trending the right way. In the right stable and Clipperton sticks. Hard to knock.
SELECTIONS: Very keen on Mr Mozart.

SANDOWN-HILLSIDE: RACE 7 @ 3:50 PM
Very competitive race but think they will do well to keep KALIUWAA FALLS (5) out of the winner's stall after he followed up the dominant maiden win with an even better performance at Geelong last time. The further they went the better he got there and the mile now looks like drawing out an even better run. Gives him a great shot at these. FLASH FEELING (9) had been racing well before taking a nice step forward at Caulfield last time and can take plenty of pegging back. BELLE SAVOIR (2) might be suited out to the mile. Solid last time but had looked very sharp winning the start prior. TAHLEQUAH (12) came from behind Flash Feeling to win a maiden cosily last time and must be respected.
SELECTIONS: Playing Kaliuwaa Falls.
EAGLE FARM: RACE 3 @ 12:38 PM
ZAVABOOM (7) is an up-and-coming three-year-old from the Gollan stable. Jumped awkwardly at his latest appearance over 1200m here before rattling home to grab second, registering his best career figure by some way in the process. Beautifully placed over the extra 100m and will be very hard to hold out. RELEASE THE BEANS (2) started favourite and looked disappointing on face value in the Daybreak Lover a fortnight ago over 1400m here. Proven at this level so certainly worth another chance with the blinkers going on for the first time. KIR ROYALE (5) resumes for Waller after being scratched from Sydney last weekend. Progressive filly who reached Saturday grade at the end of her maiden prep when third at Rosehill over this distance. This is a stiff test but her figures stack up. HAMLET VON SNITZEL (10) is worth including after a tough win at Ipswich 10 days ago. Waller's other runner MINSK MOMENT (4) is back in grade and fitter so might be the big improver.
SELECTIONS: Backing #7 Zavaboom straight-out.
MORPHETTVILLE: RACE 4 @ 1:37 PM
First of the good races is the HC Nitschke Stakes. ILLATION (2) looked so good on his debut and is bred to be good. He may well want longer in time but you can trust this stable to get it right. Should get the perfect run in transit again. PERCEPTIVE (8) boxed on well in the Clare Lindop Stakes. She is back a furlong but is fitter and a big rider up. DEFINING (10) has to be respected after the winning margins. They were easier races but she really finds the line. STAR OF CHAOS (6) raced some good horses in the Spring. She seems one that could be value. ASYMMETRICAL (5) is another who could well want further. Clearly has ability though.
SELECTIONS: Keen on Illation but save on Star Of Chaos.
ASCOT: RACE 8 @ 4:38 PM
OTHERONESON (6) is a promising type and while he was beaten as favourite third-up the extra trip is a plus and he's still nicely weighted. Can atone. KIA ORA STAR (1) held him off to win and was 1100m up to 1400m there. Claim helps his cause and he's a threat again. ALBUKHTURI (7) is racing honestly of late and if he has some luck from the wide alley is capable of being in the finish. NATIONAL GUARD (3) and BEAT THE BRO (2) have each-way hopes.
SELECTIONS: Otheroneson to win. Trifecta 6-1,2,3,7/1,2,3,7.
