Major metropolitan meetings are today held at Flemington, Belmont, Bendigo, Eagle Farm, Gold Coast and Morphettville.

FLEMINGTON: RACE 7 @ 3:20 PM

Plenty of things line up here for CARDINAL GEM (8). Draws well third up under a jockey who has a great record with the stable. He looks like getting into a great spot stalking an honest pace and from there he should take a power of stopping. Just had too much of asked of him to date but he has big talent and if things set up he can win better races than this. ARRAN BAY (7) and LITERARY MAGNATE (5) are others hitting this at the top of their game now. Both can win races like this. TUAHINE (12) returned in good fashion with a 2.8L win at Pakenham first-up. This is tougher but he has plenty of upside. Watch for market moves.
SELECTIONS: Hot race but it's nicely set up for Cardinal Gem

BELMONT PARK: RACE 5 @ 2:24 PM

SNEAKY CHANCE (5) is back to his own age group after a solid third here last week when favourite and hitting the line from well back. Entitled to another chance. TADWEER (4) has found one better in both WA starts but has been very competitive in both too. On pacer who can measure up. BEADS (1) is an honest type who bumped into a couple of smart ones last prep and ran well. Fitter for recent trial and must be respected. CHARMING BELLE (7) and COLOSSAL (6) come off wins in easier grade and have claims.
SELECTIONS: Sneaky Chance to win. Trifecta 5-1,4,6,7/1,4,6,7.

BENDIGO: RACE 6 @ 3:01 PM

HOLSTER (4) hit the line strongly when resuming at Sandown. Will take improvement from the run and the rise in trip will suit. Must be respected. OUR LONE STAR (1) scored at Sandown in April but two subsequent efforts have been below par. Will find this more to his liking and can bounce back. BIG BREW (12) has his foot on the till after two good efforts at Pakenham. Looks nicely placed to get back into winner's list. CANBYA (8) charged home to score nicely at Sandown then was a little plain at Flemington last time. No superstars engaged here and should be competitive.
SELECTIONS: Back Holster to win.

EAGLE FARM: RACE 9 @ 3:53 PM

This is the race GYPSY GODDESS (2) has been set for so expect her to be at her best. Brave when runner up in the ATC Oaks in Sydney and in her only run since settled last but ran on to go under by half a length on a wet track. Draws out but relying on Pike's skills to overcome that. Unbeaten both here and on good tracks so looks tough to beat with even luck. ARAVENE (12) is a lightly raced filly on the up. Made it back to back wins when making a long run and drawing away to score by 3L over 2000m at Rosehill last start. Has plenty of scope so looks a danger. BARB RAIDER (1) has had plenty of racing but continues to thrive. Too strong in The Roses last week and will be hard fit on the back up. BELLE SAVOIR (11) ran on and got close to Barb Raider last week. She is another making rapid progress. Last-start Australasian Oaks winner GLINT OF HOPE (3) deserves respect.
SELECTIONS: Gypsy Goddess is classy and at her peak. Backing to win.

GOLD COAST: RACE 3 @ 12:34 PM

TELEGRAPH (2) finished off strongly for second over 1000m at Sunshine Coast Poly first up. The extra 100m looks ideal and he gets his best chance to break through. PRINCE AMONGST MEN (1) comes here first up. He wasn't far away last time in and will give a good sight. PRIME ASSET (3) was just fair first up at Sunshine Coast, beaten 6 lengths. He can improve without surprising. MY MISS MOONPIE (13) has good early speed but struggled over 1200m last time, so back to 1100m should suit.
SELECTIONS: Telegraph to win.

MORPHETTVILLE PARKS: RACE 6 @ 2:27 PM

CANIDAE (9) seems a good price here. He does get back in his races but always hits the line. It looks a great set up for him with some pace on and a low draw to be midfield hopefully. BROTHER'S SHADOW (2) will be in the market as he will be right on the pace. He is back to a better grade today. MORE SHOTS (10) made nice improvement second up. She could easily do that again in this. GARRIRE (12) races with consistency but does not win often. Gets a nice drop in weight for this. BENZ BARON (6) could be placed at his best.
SELECTIONS: Canidae an each-way play.
