3 minute read

Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for June 13.

Australian thoroughbred Tab meetings are today held at Warwick Farm, Mornington, Cairns and Murray Bridge.

WARWICK FARM: RACE 6 @ 3:10 PM

JAL LEI (4) didn't measure up in the two runs in Group company before the spell but the form prior was full of merit. Gets 2kg off with the claim and has two wins and a placing from three first-up attempts. Looks the class runner and can bounce right back to form against this lot. DARALINA BELLE (9) was very competitive around Caulfield last time out and strips fitter third-up from the spell. In the mix. DEHORNED UNICORN (6) has a win and a second from four tries at the journey and can earn some minor money. MICRO (8) has placed two from two when fresh and can fill the frame first-up. ASHLOR (1) best of the rest with the claim.
SELECTIONS: Jai Lei to win.

MORNINGTON: RACE 2 @ 1:00 PM

HAPPY FAMILY (4) is held in high regard and will be looking for a soft kill on debut. The blinkers are applied so an on-pace run can be expected. The market will tell the full story but on paper he looks the one to beat. SUIZURO (5) has the experience edge on his rivals and is returning from a spell as a gelding. From his handy draw, he should be thereabouts. KIMBERLEY (9) is on debut from a good stable that knows how to get them up and running early. Include in all multiples. SHUFFLE DANCER (11) has the breeding to handle a wet track and coming from the Moody stable she is sure to be well educated. Include in all combinations.
SELECTIONS: Happy Family win bet.

CAIRNS: RACE 2 @ 1:46 PM

ENDINAYE (6) finished a bold fourth here last start when not having a lot of luck in the running over 950m when well supported, he should appreciate the extra 300m in distance today. Looks the leading chance. MISS BOSSY (3) has placed third in her two runs back from a spell and looked unlucky last start when checked with 150m to run. Rates as a solid each-way show. CHATEAU ROYALE (10) came from fifth on the turn to finish third here last start over 1250m and with two placings from her last three starts won't be far away at the line. BORLOTTI BEANS (5) placed second of eight runner last start at Innisfail over 900m when racing for the first time with blinkers on, can fall into a place.
SELECTIONS: Miss Bossy each-way.

CAIRNS: RACE 3 @ 2:21 PM

CALL ME MO (6) won here as the favourite two back and followed that run up with a solid second of 14 runners over 1500m when once again sent out as the favourite. Has the winkers on today for the first time and hard to see him beaten on latest efforts. MODERNISM (4) resumed from a spell here last start and failed to beat a runner home over 1250m, he has a strong record at this track and in a fitter state today along with Justin Stanley in the saddle should be returning to form. MT PETER MISS (5) finished fourth to the top selection last start and she has won five races from 17 starts at this track. Can run a place in this line-up. FEMALE OFFICER (7) is racing in strong form with two wins from her last five starts, she finished fifth of 14 runners here last start when racing wide for most of the trip, with a good run today can finish in the top-three.
SELECTIONS: Call Me Mo to win.

MURRAY BRIDGE: RACE 7 @ 3:40 PM

PLAYBOY CHARLIE (6) was straight to 2200m second-up and led until the final stages, fading to finish second at Balaklava on a soft track. Peaks for this and looks hard to beat now over the extra ground. AZZUREOUS (3) finished in the middle of the pack last start at Gawler on soft going. Up sharply in trip but fitter for two runs in and did just miss here at the same journey earlier this year. Looks a leading hope. CITY BEATS (7) won by 1.75 lengths last start at Mildura and should be prominent. Can figure in the finish. CHARLTON (12) is struggling this preparation but did keep coming last time in a run better than it looks. May well be suited by the staying contest. CONQUEST OF TEARS (13) ran an improved race finishing midfield last start at Balaklava on soft going and tackles a longer journey. Worth consideration.
SELECTIONS: Hard to go past Playboy Charlie.
