Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for June 15.
Australian thoroughbred Tab meetings are today held at Randwick Kensington, Sandown-Hillside, Doomben, Belmont Park and Strathalbyn.
RANDWICK KENSINGTON: RACE 4 @ 2:35 PM
SEGRILL (2) has returned in fine fashion with two wins from three runs this time in and Pike sticks in the saddle after that last-start victory. Will be at her peak now fourth-up and drawn to get a cushy run from gate three. Ticks plenty of boxes. FIORDLAND (6) resumes here but the form he showed when last in work was good enough to play a role in this. Can run a race while fresh. PROPOSE A TOAST (3) has placed two from three over this journey and should be in this for a long way. MEDIA STARGUEST (1) is drawn to get all the favours from the inside alley and looks a genuine top-three contender. MICRONA (5) best of the rest on the back of a first-up second.

SANDOWN-HILLSIDE: RACE 3 @ 1:35 PM
LITERARY MAGNATE (1) draws in today and that can be all important. A drop in grade doesn't hurt either. Set too much to do throughout this prep but she has been powering through the line and a mile here from a better position in running should see her come out on top. Her main danger is SEACOLE (2) who comes here 33 days on from winning her second on the bounce. That was a narrow win and Literary Magnate should take far more beating but she is respected for the top yard. FIASCO TESS (4) also comes off winning over 1500m at Cranbourne with a chance here. SACRED COVE (8) had no luck two back and wasn't far away at Moe last time. Can measure up.
SELECTIONS: Literary Magnate should take care of these.
DOOMBEN: RACE 3 @ 1:43 PM
AMBITIOUS SPIRIT (1) finished fifth of eight runners over 1200m at Doomben on a heavy track as the $1.60 favourite when resuming from a spell last start and previously placed a head second of 11 runners when second-up. Rates as the leading chance and looks well placed here to break his maiden status. ARGYLE PINK (6) resumes from a spell and finished an unlucky fourth last start when denied racing room over the final stages of the race when the $2.30 favourite. Finished second here two runs back and is a major player. FLYING DEPUTY (3) resumes from a spell following a third of 13 runners at Sunshine Coast on debut, has strong winning claims fresh-up. PRIMAL LOCKDOWN (4) looks ready to fire following a strong trial win over 1200m at Sunshine Coast, watch for any market moves on this runner.
SELECTIONS: Ambitious Spirit to win.
BELMONT PARK: RACE 8 @ 4:15 PM
MAHALEO (4) brought strong form to resumption here and was much too good. Spiked his figures and fitter can go right on with it with a form hoop sticking. BORN TO TALK (3) bounced back with the CL1 win this track and trip. Fit and the on-pacer will get every chance to go on. FIRST LAW (1) gets a wide barrier but impressed just beaten here the latest in better grade. Gets in well with the 3kg claim and can make the finish with a good ride. ZOUDINI (8) resumes for a sharp barn and goes fresh. He also has a wide barrier but can't be ruled out if presented on-song.
SELECTIONS: Backing Mahaleo to win.
STRATHALBYN: RACE 6 @ 3:40 PM
VENUSIAN (7) peaks and has been threatening a win. Gets some weight relief today and is on a 7-day return. The one to beat. PIVOTAL FORCE (6) is also fourth-up and showed better form the latest. Raced favourite in that and is also back after a week. Keeps a leading hoop and expect him to manage the awkward barrier. RIPPA EAGLE (2) was plainer at Mildura but he led and just missed the last two. Fitter now and he will give a sight with a 3kg claim pushing forward. ENZED BEER (3) came back to racing improved beaten 2L here. Fitter now and Holder can use the rail. In the mix.
