Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for July 13.
Australian thoroughbred Tab meetings are today held at Warwick Farm, Sandown-Hillside, Belmont Park, Doomben, Grafton and Murray Bridge.
WARWICK FARM: RACE 2 @ 1:25 PM
ARCH OF TITUS (1) is unlucky to still be a maiden with two consecutive runner-up finishes to start the career including one over this trip. Gets 2kg weight relief with the claim and is drawn perfectly in gate one. Ticks plenty of boxes. SMART LEGEND (6) faces the starter for the first time but has shown potential in two recent Randwick trials and gets the services of Bowman in the saddle. Among the leading chances. SPIRIT OF VOMO (7) just missed the placegetters at Gosford on debut and will take a lot from the race day experience. In the mix. The well-related BINGHAMTON (3) gets Pike on from a low draw and can run a race on debut. CRAFTY EAGLE (4) is also at the races for the first time and a watch on betting is advised.

SANDOWN-HILLSIDE: RACE 4 @ 2:10 PM
Little freshen and a new scenario for RAVAGED AWARD (5) and it could pay immediate dividends. Things have happened a touch too quickly for her at 1100m in two runs this prep but she has been strong late in both despite never getting into a position to threaten but with a good draw, a gun jock and 1400m, that may change now. Hardest for her to beat are AEECEE SUPREME (3) who was too good on debut on the synthetic track at Pakenham and PACIFIC RUBY (9) who resumed a winner at Moe on the heavy. Put a nice space on them there and clearly back in top order. PARLAYED (4) has a nice profile. Had an excuse last time but showed talent winning first up.
SELECTIONS: Like the change of scenario for Ravaged Award.
BELMONT PARK: RACE 7 @ 3:35 PM
SAVANIK (4) deserved the CL3 win here this trip bet a 6-4F. The 2kg claim assists and on a 7-day return looks capable of repeating. ZERO DEMERITS (8) peaks and go on the lip defeat here two-back. Finds easier and count on Chris Parnham to manage the awkward gate. SCORPION STORMZ (5) ran his best race winning the CL3 at Northam. He will be in the finish building on that effort. SHE'S A SWEET DEEL (6) resumes off a trial and will be around the mark if presented forward.
SELECTIONS: Backing Savanik.
DOOMBEN: RACE 5 @ 2:21 PM
FAST TALKING (1) seeks the hat-trick and it was easy the latest over 1800m. He has more to give and rates to go on with it for the sharp Vandyke barn. OSTERMEIER (4) is much better than the form-line suggests. Will find this more suitable than the Listed Ipswich Cup. Not sure the rail suits but he will run it right out. PAINTED BLACK (8) is an improver seeking the hat-trick in stronger class. Has the 3kg weight drop and should get the run of the race. BLACKLOG (7) hasn't won for a while but is going well enough to fill a slot.
SELECTIONS: Backing Fast Talking to win.
GRAFTON: RACE 3 @ 1:39 PM
OAKFIELD DUKE (3) hasn't done much wrong with two wins and a placing to start the career and winning hoop Bullock sticks in the saddle. No reason why he can't continue on his winning ways. JUST STROLLING (2) has been racing well with his only recent failure coming in a Rosehill Highway. Right in this on best form. SMALL TOWN (13) has the speed to be prominent from the outset and should be in this for a long way. The well-related PHOENIX RIVER (1) got the job done when resuming and can go on with it now.
SELECTIONS: Oakfield Duke to win.
MURRAY BRIDGE: RACE 7 @ 3:40 PM
UNDERSTATEMENT (5) has been running around in much tougher company than this, and wasn't disgraced in his most recent start at Morphettville. He draws well today with the in-form Hurdle taking the ride. Loves this track and trip and can notch up another win. AMERICAN TROUBLE (12) drops in weight from his last outing at Gawler where he was well beaten. Staying at 2000m is a big plus though and he's sure to be about the money. MOSCOW MULE (3) looks ready for this rise in trip now and loves this course having won 2/3. He'll need some luck from the draw, but he's a winning chance if he runs anywhere near his best. ANOTHER FREE GLASS (7) likes the trip and will handle the going. Not to be discounted.
