Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for July 27.

Australian thoroughbred Tab meetings are today held at Warwick Farm, Sandown Hillside, Belmont Park, Balaklava, Doomben and Fannie Bay.

WARWICK FARM: RACE 6 @ 3:45 PM

TRANSPLANT (7) is a progressive type who hasn't been far away in his two runs since relocating from Victoria. Gets in lighter for this and in-form hoop W Pike is in the saddle. Top pick. FLOWER MOON (5) has returned in great order finding the frame in all three resuming runs, including two wins. Is from a smart stable and has a strong winning partnership with J Collett sticking. Tougher task this time but is among the leading chances. AIR OF ALSACE (6) loomed large fresh when finishing a neck away at Rosehill but followed that up with a plain showing last time when finishing rearward. Normally relishes the wet going is capable of a much better run. Can atone. SOFFIKA (1) started favourite at Eagle Farm in her debut Australian run but was unable to make the necessary ground after racing near the tail. Found the line well last start and is expected improver. In the mix.
SELECTIONS: Backing Transplant to win.

BALAKLAVA: RACE 7 @ 3:40 PM

FIELDS OF ATHENRY (5) settled back off an awkward gate on resumption and was wide later and recorded a tidy effort in the circumstances. She will settle closer today and placed here only second-up run. Regular rider Gatt is reunited and fitter the mare has the figures to be winning. LAMOREE (6) has been racing in stronger grade in town and they were solid efforts. Peaks now and expect her to finish hard. A player. HEY MICHAEL (4) has switched from a NSW barn on a 30 day return. He draws well and was just lipped out in a Cowra CL1 the latest. He's capable of making the finish. CHEVITE (3) has disappointed since the first-up near miss at Gawler. He has good support there the latest and is in well with the 3kg claim. He will control the race and should give a sight.
SELECTIONS: Backing Fields Of Athenry to win.

BELMONT PARK: RACE 8 @ 3:00 PM

FLYING MISSILE (5) was beaten 1L here in the 66 and ran a strong figure for this contest. Keeps the leading hoop and draws to advantage. Peaks with 3kg weight relief and is sure to take beating. CHILI IS HOT (3) has been close-up this grade all three runs this preparation. Fitter again and can make the finish again. BRAVE DREAM (9) made sharp improvement beaten a whisker here at the mile. Third-up now but is likely to settle back from the rails gate and that's the query. ALL DAY SESSION (2) would be a player with a repeat of the half-length defeat two runs back at better level.
SELECTIONS: Backing Flying Missile.

DOOMBEN: RACE 3 @ 1:08 PM

LANDSBOROUGH LAD (2) is unlucky to still be a maiden placing in all four runs this time in and strikes a winnable contest here. Draws the inside alley and gets 1.5kg off with the claim. Ticks plenty of boxes. MILLWARD (5) is another who is knocking on the door with four consecutive runner-up finishes including one over this track and trip. Looms as the main danger. MOON STALKER (6) has hit the top five at his past six outings and rarely puts in a bad effort. Among the winning hopes. The well-related OUR ARMISTICE (13) wasn't disgraced here on debut and will take a lot of benefit from that race day experience. In the mix.
SELECTIONS: Landsborough Lad to win.

FANNIE BAY: RACE 5 @ 4:53 PM

BOY BIG (2) made it three minor placings from three runs this prep when a closing third over 1200m 18 days ago. Cherry-ripe now and brings better figures here than most of these. Ready to win. BEAR FOREVER (5) loomed up at the furlong but peaked late and wound up in second spot last time out over 1200m. Slight risk at 1300m but in a modest field he gets his chance. ANDAMAN (1) did his best work late to grab third when resuming over 1200m last start. Kept fresh since that assignment 39 days ago. Still a maiden after 23 runs which rings alarm bells but he does appeal on an each-way basis. QUICK RETURN (8) was prominent early but didn't go on last time in a Rst62 over this trip. Runner-up over this distance in maiden company three starts back which is a better guide. Ex-Victorian READY OR BUST (4) resumes. Respect any market confidence.
SELECTIONS: Today is the day for Boy Big.

SANDOWN-HILLSIDE: RACE 4 @ 2:10 PM

ZIPPING BOY (1) returned to the Hunter stable last time and he returned to form with it. Yard are going great guns and they know how to get the most out of Zipping Boy. One way to do that is to come to Sandown where he is two from two on the Hillside and has a great shot at making that three from three now. MCKEEVER (6) looks his biggest obstacle. Slow away and ultimately a touch stiff at Geelong last time. Good there the start prior and gets the on-song Craig Williams for this. SESSIONS ROAD (2) resumes with a chance and last start winner PAL'S REWARD (7) is another that has a hope.
SELECTIONS: Like Zipping Boy at his favourite place.
