Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for August 12.

Australian thoroughbred Tab meetings are today held at Port Macquarie, Tamworth, Geelong, Ipswich and Roebourne.

PORT MACQUARIE: RACE 8 @ 4:45 PM

DON'T DOUBT KATIE (2) was in brilliant form last campaign and looks to have returned in similar vein judging by her lead up trials. He loves this trip, she's a winner first-up and in heavy going. She might just be too good for her competitors. WANNAWINWIN (6) stormed home to win impressively fresh over this track and trip. He's a winner second-up previously and if he has improved off his fresh effort, he'll be right there at the finish. STERNY BEAR (13) disappointed last start but was tracking well prior to that. Worth including. CAPTAIN WISE (7) bolted in at Scone last time out and can be prominent once more.

IPSWICH: RACE 7 @ 3:17 PM

REEANON (12) has been racing in much better city company and the form is compelling. Missed a nose at Doomben two-back and has the speed to clear the awkward gate. Fully fit now and will be hard to beat. MONEY IN MY POCKET (6) resumes for a sharp yard with the premier rider booked. Has switched from a Victorian barn and was last seen at Group 3 level. She trialled well and has won fresh. Sure to be fancied. MORETON BAY (7) resumes for the State's top barn and brings a Doomben trial placing. Should be naturally improved and has shown enough to suggest she's a chance with average luck from the awkward barrier. SOUL SPIRIT (9) mixes the form but would be a hope on her best effort.
