Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for June 29.
Australian thoroughbred Tab meetings are today held at Randwick Kensington, Sandown Lakeside, Eagle Farm, Belmont Park and Balaklava .
RANDWICK KENSINGTON: RACE 7 @ 3:45 PM
New Zealander BRIMSTONE (4) has been knocking on the door in both local runs with two runner-up finishes to start his Australian campaign. Has a win and a second from three attempts at the trip and gets 2kg weight relief with the claim. Strips fitter now and shapes as a key contender. The well-related GO TROPPO (2) bounced back to form with a handy win at Warwick Farm last time out and will take confidence from that victory. Right in this. LE VIZIR (9) has won second-up before and is drawn to get a soft run in transit from gate one. Can earn some minor money. The consistent SPEED LEGEND (8) has never missed the top five in ten career outings and has to be included.

SANDOWN-LAKESIDE: RACE 5 @ 2:45 PM
MASK UP (11) arrives off a pair of very solid looking hitouts at Flemington and a repeat of the form that he has been showing there will carry him a long way back in this contest. Won his first two, looking handy, at 1200m and now gets back to that trip after the good runs over shorter. That can set him right up. TRUE GRIT (12) is first up having gone out on a win and he was good when resuming last time around as well. He should be competitive along with SO RISQUE (5) who also resumes and was a cosy winner when fresh last prep. SMART MOZZIE (4) was a touch plain last time but back on the turf now and a winner two back at Sale.
SELECTIONS: Mask Up finds the right race.
EAGLE FARM: RACE 5 @ 2:18 PM
LANDSBOROUGH LAD (1) peaks and has missed a whisker his last two heavily-bet. Maloney sticks with the Vandyke-trained galloper. Draws better today and will take beating. BROOKLYN MAM (15) is in the premier barn and has needed the two runs back. Her best is good enough and expect Byrne to give her every chance. PRIMAL LOCKDOWN (2) won a trial by a space and then ran along at Doomben on debut beaten a half-length. He gets a cruel gate but is quick early and fitter can make the finish with average luck in the run. HETTINGER (5) is up from NSW and is an improver with a top hoop booked. Well-bred and is also a chance.

BELMONT PARK: RACE 6 @ 3:40 PM
MISS FIELD (6) did not help herself with a slow start fresh up and probably should have finished even closer than fourth had she got a clear run a touch earlier in the straight. She will strip fitter for that effort and with an extra 100m to travel today, she looks to be the one to beat. WHAT A PRINCE (3) broke through for a deserved win at Northam last start by leading all the way. He is likely to adopt similar tactics today and though harder this time he should still take some catching. Include in all multiples. IAN'S SPECIAL (10) may have found the 1000m a touch short for her last time out and she looks much better placed at today's trip. She draws perfectly in the pole position and the 3kg claim is also in her favour. She is worthy of respect in this field. FIND YOUR MAN (4) has needed both his runs back this time in over the shorter trips and will be peaking third up. He is seldom far away and has yet to miss a cheque at the distance. Watch closely.

BALAKLAVA: RACE 4 @ 1:20 PM
COVERED CALL (1) led and placed as favourite second-up and has more up the sleeve. Draws to advantage and fitter can be winning with the in-form Holder replacing the apprentice. MADAM PRANCEALOT (12) is a former Sydney galloper who raced a 2-1F resuming for the David Jolly barn and wasn't far away. The lift in trip advantages as does the low barrier. Will go close at best and Sharp improvement is likely. FAMILY ADDITION (5) showed much better form at Strathalbyn finishing it off well from the back. Keeps a top hoop and the longer sprint will suit. Can't be ruled out. DIXIE WHISTLER (10) races handy and can build on the solid first-up placing. She's improved and is also suited out to the 1400m.
