Race 5: Incredulous Dream
Not seen at the races since finishing at the tail of the field in the Group 2 Dane Ripper, this four-year-old daughter of Press Statement returned over 1200m with two sound Rosehill trials under her belt.
Third elect in the market, the mare jumped on terms from her middle draw (6) before being restrained by jockey Tommy Berry in order to secure cover.
Berry and his mount continued to lose ground in the run and by the final turn found themselves with all but one runner ahead of them.
Luckily for the pair the gaps came early in the straight, permitting Berry to pop the question promptly and allow the four-year-old to get stuck into her work.
Although posing no threat to the breakaway leader and eventual winner, the mare showed encouraging signs as she swept down the outside to hit the line hard for second.
First-up and short of her preferred distance, Incredulous Dream will take great benefit from the run and prove hard to hold off when stepping out in trip in proceeding efforts.
