Morphettville Races Review on 30th April 2022

A stable switch from the Maher/Eustace operation to Gary and Dean Alexander at Gawler saw Blood Sweat Tears take out the opening event of 1400 metres at Morphettville on Saturday.

Resuming from a spell the Barend Vorster guided Blood Sweat Tears  was well placed and finished the event off in a tight finish.

The tight finishes continued when the David Jolly prepared Miss Langtry  was declared the winner of the 1250 metre second race.

Having the services of apprentice Lachlan Neindorf Miss Langtry came from a near last position with a withering run over the concluding stages to score a last stride win.

David Jolly brought up the second leg of a running double when Gaze Grise took out the 1000 metre third race.

Steered to victory by Kayla Crowther Gaze Grise  came from a worse than midfield position to meet with success.

The three-year-old colt entered black type company at his second start when he won the 1400 metre Listed H C Nitschke Stakes.

Being under the care of Mick Price and Michael Kent junior at Cranbourne Illation came from a midfield position with a rails run to bring up his second win at start two.

The father and daughter training combination of Richard and Chantelle Jolly have a good juvenile on their hands with See You In Heaven who took out the Group 1200 metre Breeders' Stakes.

Guided to victory by Jake Toeroek See You In Heaven was never further back than fourth in bringing up her third win from four starts.

Mick Price and Michael Kent junior brought up their second win for the day when Jungle Magnate took out the Group 3 Chairman's Stakes which was conducted over 2000 metres.

Guided to victory by Damian Oliver Jungle Magnate came from well back, wide on the home turn before going on to win.

Daniel Moor continued his good success rate in group races when he rode Glint of Hope to a win in the Group 1 Australasian Oaks which was run over 2000 metres on the Morphettville main track.

Trained at Cranbourne by Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young Glint of Hope maintained a steady forward position before going onto claim the Oaks.

Morvada continued his model of consistency when he took out the Listed City of Adelaide Handicap which was run over 1400 metres on the Parks track completing a good day for the Jolly family.

 The Peter Jolly prepared Jamie Kah ridden Morvada raced in a forward position and was never challenged over the concluding stages.

Riding at the top of her powers Kayla Crowther rode the second leg of her double when Call Me Shamus won the 1300 metre final event on the Parks track.

Trained by Phillip Stikes Call Me Shamus came from a rearward position with a withering run late in the event.
