Brisbane forward Eric Hipwood has successfully returned to AFL action and can't wait for the second-placed Lions to get back all of their injured tall forwards.

Brisbane's Eric Hipwood is predicting carnage for the Lions' AFL rivals when the club's tall forwards can all combine on the field.

The 203cm forward made a successful return from an ACL injury in last Saturday's win over Adelaide, picking up 11 disposals, including four goal assists, in the 36-point win at Adelaide Oval.

Hipwood's first game since round 17 last year was a timely one for the Lions with Joe Daniher (shoulder) and Daniel McStay (ankle) both sidelined.

With Brisbane having soared to an 8-1 start despite those injuries, Hipwood cannot wait to see what the three talls can do when they do finally get onto the field together.

"I probably had about 10 weeks with them last year. I'm certainly excited and I'm sure we'll cause some havoc in the back half of the year if we can get back and play together," the 24-year-old said.

"I'm excited to play with them, they're both quality players.

"It'll be good when we're all up and going."

Hipwood admitted to pulling up sore but happy after his performance against the Crows, marking the second successful return from a serious knee injury for the Lions forwards this year after Cam Rayner's comeback earlier in the year.

Sidelined for a long period for the first time in his seven-season career, Hipwood said it was easy to pinpoint what had been the hardest time of his layoff.

"Missing finals, that sucked," he said.

"Watching us lose too, that definitely sucked, to not be able to help out.

"It was good having Cam there to be able to lean on each other for some emotional side. It was good having that but yeah, definitely the finals."
