3 minute read

Carlton have traded experienced midfielder Lauren Brazzale to AFLW rivals Collingwood in exchange for young onballer Amelia Velardo.

AFLW rivals Carlton and Collingwood have completed another player swap as the competition's sign-and-trade period continues.

Experienced Blues midfielder Lauren Brazzale is on the move after being traded to Collingwood for youngster Amelia Velardo.

Brazzale was selected by Carlton in the inaugural AFLW draft in 2016, playing 41 games across six seasons for the Blues.

Carlton also gave up pick 38 and 89 with the Magpies handing over selection 73 in the draft.

Despite the rivalry between the clubs, the women's teams have not been opposed to swapping players, none bigger than the 2019 deal to send former Carlton captain Brianna Davey to Collingwood.

In other deals completed on day three of the sign-and-trade period, Geelong sent Jordan Ivey and pick 51 to Melbourne in exchange for Jackie Parry and Shelley Scott.

The Blues also traded Charlotte Wilson to the Demons for pick 42.

In a firesale, Melbourne offloaded Krstel Petrevski, Isabella Simmons and pick 77 to struggling West Coast for pick 50 in the draft.

Expansion club Port Adelaide announced the open-age signings of Alexandra Ballard and Elizabeth McGrath.
