Geelong coach Chris Scott says Patrick Dangerfield and a handful of other talents are set to return to their line-up for their trip to the Gold Coast.
The return of star midfielder Patrick Dangerfield highlights a selection headache Geelong are happy to have as their squad continues to strengthen heading towards the AFL finals.
Coach Chris Scott revealed on Wednesday Gary Rohan, Joel Selwood and Mark Blicavs are all likely to join Dangerfield in returning to the Cats' side for Saturday's trip to the Gold Coast.
Scott said running-machine Isaac Smith (rested) will be one player to miss out, but there's still plenty of calls to be made adding the returning players into a side that smashed St Kilda by 45 points last time out for an 11th straight win.
Dangerfield, a late out with a calf complaint, appears almost certain to be recalled.
"From our conversations, it's all looking really positive in terms of him playing ... it was a really conservative call to take him out last week," Scott told reporters.
"But we absolutely reserve our right to be really conservative again if need be, but we just don't see any reason to think that that would be the case at the moment."
Scott will still have to work on his ruck set-up, with Jon Ceglar suffering a concussion in the VFL after being the Cats' medi-sub against the Saints.
Rhys Stanley rucked solo, while he'll get help from the rested Blicavs should he return.
"It's really disappointing for 'Cegs' because he played his way back into our team, we were really happy with the way he went in his AFL game and we did have plans to give him some more exposure," Scott said.
"But I guess the upside is all indications are that it'll just be a week that he misses so it's annoying but hopefully that's all it is."
With winnable games against the Suns and West Coast heading into finals, Scott called on his side to continue their "endless search for perfection".
"We think there are multiple areas across a game we can improve," he said.
"We're trying to take a focus into the last two games that we want to work on our game ... we don't care what the opposition do, we're just going to play our game."
