After losing 30-12 to Rabbitohs Parramatta coach Brad Arthur has called on each member of his playing group to take responsibility for the side's performances.

Coach Brad Arthur has said each member of Parramatta's playing group must hold himself accountable for the Eels' performances if they are to kick their habit of losing winnable games.

Parramatta have lost six games this year, each one to a side that was lower on the ladder before kick-off.

After Saturday night's hefty 30-12 loss to South Sydney, Arthur said "individual accountability" was the only solution to the side's problem.

"We need 17 players owning their jobs and doing their jobs," he said, "we're not getting that each week."

Equally, Arthur said the Eels needed to buy in, for the sake of their teammates.

"We're not playing well as a team every week," he said.

"We've got to work together and try and win the game together and make sure our effort is for someone around us," he said.

On Saturday, the Eels struggled to assert themselves in attack but Arthur defended his halves Dylan Brown and Mitch Moses, who were unable to wrestle back territory with their kicking game.

"If you turn the ball over cheaply ... it gives (the opposition) good field position to kick," he said.

"All their kicks are in good ball and are attacking kicks, whereas ours were just trying to kick it out of trouble."

Eels co-captain Clint Gutherson admitted conceding a try a minute before halftime rattled the Eels, who never fought their way back into the contest after the break.

"It was hard," he said.

"We defended four or five sets in a row on our line and turned them away.

"All we had to do was go into half-time down six (points) but we just made the wrong play with 20 seconds to go and it ended up costing us."
