Winning Trainer: John Dann

“This prep he has been settling in his races. He used to go pretty hard in his races but he’s going good.

“She (Collett) goes well on him. She hasn’t had many rides on him and that’s two she’s won.

“Once he got that bit of cover and got in amongst them he seemed to drop the bit nicely for her. He got shuffled back a little bit further than we wanted to be but I thought he finished off really well.

“Once he got to the outside he was really good and finished off really well.”

Winning Jockey: Samantha Collett

“It was a little bit hairy at that first corner. I was happy to hold my one-one spot. Had a little bit of pressure from the outside which forced me back three-back one-off which wasn’t “Plan A” but we dealt with that.

“When the speed went on 500-out I was willing to get on my bike and get going. He was brave and his two runs before this were solid and he’s a horse I’m familiar with which is good.

“We know he likes Ipswich and he really knuckled down for the fight.

Other horse taking off early: “That might have been a headache for me had they not done that and I’d have been back in the ruck in an awkward spot, but sometimes you have a bit of luck and sometimes you don’t so I’ll take that one.
