“Very good win. Full credit to Tommy, Kayla and the team back in Adelaide. They’ve done a fantastic job with this horse. I just had to keep him ticking over for the week.

“I think time has done him good, and going over the Adelaide and going through his grades. He’s really enjoyed it. He’s a happy horse. We always thought he’d enjoy the straight and it’s great now he’s done that and tipped it over.

“Very happy for Ken McDonald who was one of the original owners and gave him to us to train.”

Looking towards another race down the straight: “We’ll see how he pulls up but he’s probably raced his way out of Adelaide now. It’s good he’s ticked that box and there’s plenty of options.”

Winning Jockey: Jamie Kah

“A big thanks to Kayla for sending me a message about him. I said ‘he looks like a really awkward horse, what’s he like?’ and she said ‘He’s great, I love him’.

“He just gave me a beautiful ride. He’s going to be a bit of fun this spring, I reckon. I think he’s such a great straight horse. He does look awkward running around those bends. Today he got into a beautiful rhythm and down the straight you can get going when you want to on him and I think that really suits him.

“If we can keep him at this track then I think he’ll win a nice race this spring. He got through the conditions really well so that’s a positive.”
