Winning Trainer: Trent Busuttin & Natalie Young (Trent speaking)

“Fantastic. I didn’t have it anywhere near (position) that he (Dee) put it. I thought she’d be out the back door but he summed it up and (it was) a beautiful ride.

“We were probably looking at another midweek (race) on Wednesday but then we threw a nom in (for this race) and when the field didn’t come up overly strong, and with the 55 (kilos) we thought she’d be competitive. Good result for First Light Racing, great supporters of the stable. Good team, good to get a Saturday win for the owners with this mare.

$130,000 as a yearling at the Premier Sale: “For the all conquering Written Tycoon, he just keeps on winning everywhere.”

What’s next: “She’s won a midweek city (race) and a Saturday city (race) now, we’ll just try and have a crack at some black type now. With the breeding it isn’t easy to do but she deserves a crack now.”

On Mirage Dancer at Moonee Valley last night: “It was even. It was good without being great. I probably would have liked him to run second with having the Caulfield Cup in mind. He probably needs to lift but he’s come here a highly rated horse. He runs consistently and he’s always up in the weights. He ran good without ‘wow’.”

Winning Jockey: Michael Dee

“I actually thought there’d be a bit more speed and a bit more pressure early. Hence why I wanted to give her a bit of a squeeze out and be that little bit closer thinking that I was going to be midfield. As it turned out I ended up in a nice enough position with a bit of cover three-wide. She was too good in the end.

“She’s always shown good ability. She’s got a good turn-of-foot. It’s just a matter of getting the right runs and showing that good turn-of-foot that she did today.”

On the track: “Considering the amount of rain that we had this morning, the track is quite good. It’s certainly going to chop out.”
