“It’s just good to have the monkey off our back. She’s been carrying a few knockers, the filly. She did such a tremendous job last prep. She was hampered by issues right before she’d had her first start so to get her back here today in such good order, it’s just a tribute to Rosemont Stud and Mark Young, and my team back at home.

“She came here today off one soft jump out and we came here looking to use this run as a second trial going into better races. So I’m pleased to see her resume as we knew she was capable of.

On the future and good sprint races at The Valley: “They’re right on the radar but I’m not going to put the horse in front of the cart (sic), we just wanted to get today out of the way and see how she pulls up. It’s just so pleasing for everybody involved. We’ve had to be patient with her.

“For me, I took a bit of a bold step coming here today off one soft jump out but I believe in the horse so much and I just feel that she’s on her way up.”

“I have to talk to the boys at Rosemont Stud after today and obviously we’ll have a good chat to Dwayne and see what he suggests we do. We’ve got a couple of programs mapped out for her but we’ll let the dust settle today and see. She’ll either run in three weeks or four weeks.”

Winning Jockey: Dwayne Dunn

“She was turned out terrific by Jason and his team. She’s all class. As soon as I cantered off on the track you could see that she’s a machine. We’ve seen it before and we need to see it again.

“It wasn’t working out that well for me in the early-mid race stages but you can see the acceleration, that turn-of-foot, and that’s a great asset. I think today’s event was more about getting her confidence back and getting her back as good as what she was. Hopefully she can go onto bigger and better things.

On last win at The Valley where she beat Yes Yes Yes and then fifth behind Exceedance at Flemington: “I had a talk to Jason earlier and Exceedance isn’t there anymore, Yes Yes Yes is gone. If you go back to that Yes Yes Yes run here, Yes Yes Yes bullocked them all out of the way and she was able to slide up underneath. But that acceleration was awesome and that sorts the wheat from the chaff.

“Lovely filly going forward and looking forward to it.”
