Winning Trainer: Shea Eden

“We were quite bullish about him running really well in the Wangoom, but it wasn’t to be so a nice consolation today.

“I don’t think he was really comfortable where he was in that going but I reckon it was a bit chopped up there. I reckon he was ducking and diving a little bit. Once he was able to balance up and get his toe right in on a nice bit of ground he pinned his ear back and was strong to the line.

“He’s a horse that we have had an opinion of and we needed to get his rating up a bit. Hopefully we can set out sights on maybe Queensland. He is a horse that does appreciate a bit of cut out of the ground so it is his time of year.”

Winning Jockey: Jye McNeil

“Had to ride him outside of his comfort zone and put him into the race a little bit earlier than he was probably ready for but he showed how classy he is.

“A little bit further won’t hurt now. He’s pretty casual and loves to take his time in the early parts of the race. That would suggest to me that he’ll be able to get over more distance and should only get better.

“The track looks on-speed again today but it could even up before the Warrnambool Cup comes around.”
